The XDEEP NX Zen Backmount System is a lightweight single cylinder setup from XDEEP's elite NX range, improved through trial and evolution. The Zen is an evolved single cylinder system with upgrades throughout to improve performance and comfort in the water.
The Zen has a new design light weight backplate with multiple attachment points at the waist. The Aluminium alloy used to make the skeleton backplate is Aerospace grade Ali-Magnesium blend for strength and rigidity but is also very, very light.
The single tank adaptor and wing can be lowered down the spine of the backplate for custom trim in the water. The shape of the bladder is a modified donut shape with more buoyancy in the small of your back for a horizontal position in the water and an upright position on the surface.
The left kidney dump is now lower down the bladder for a more natural position and the inflator hose comes out of the wing vertically without a hard or bulky elbow so the hose routes more naturally down your shoulder.
The Bladder is made from 1100 DTex Cordura material which is coated with a TPU layer which is as resistant to rupture as a double shell design at a fraction of the weight.

The ZEN wing is deliberately narrow so that it does not protrude from the side of your tank. This brings advantages in enhancing your buoyancy control, in reducing any entanglement hazards and in significantly reducing drag. As we reduce drag we usually improve our gas consumption, enabling longer and safer dives.
Traditional wings have a large central ‘dead zone’. No air bladder, just fabric. By using this space for more effectively we have reduced the dead zone considerably which means we can reduce the overall bladder size.
